When Luis first arrived at the Sunrise Hub with hopes of a warm meal, he carried the heavy burdens of homelessness.
Scared, hungry, anxious, and without even a backpack to call his own, our Crisis Intervention Specialist, Steven, was quick to lend an ear.
Steven listened to Luis’ as he described challenges struggling to find Spanish-speaking services to meet his basic needs. He connected Luis to more than just a meal; ensuring he got an ID, sleeping bag, and warm shower—restoring his dignity.
At the Sunrise Hub, Luis found a community of support with other Spanish-speaking individuals and a safe place to sleep at night thanks to the compassion provided by our Crisis Intervention Specialist.
Today, Luis is fully employed and saved up to purchase a phone allowing him to reconnect with his family—a priceless gift this holiday season.
