Donate Items to Sunrise

Sunrise accepts gently used items, food, and gift cards to empower people experiencing homelessness. In-kind donations can be dropped off at our Hub location from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm Monday to Friday. Please submit an In-Kind Donation Request for items not on the following list, large items like furniture, or specialty items like appliances.

Sunrise partners with Charitable Adult Rides & Services (CARS) for all vehicle donations. We strive to accept all types of donated vehicles (running or not) including cars, trucks, trailers, boats, RVs, motorcycles, campers, off-road vehicles, planes, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and most other motorized vehicles. During extreme weather and holidays, we have special needs for in-kind donations. To learn more about what items you can and cannot donate to Sunrise please reach out to the Community Engagement Team at communityengagement@sunriseaustin.org. Thank you!!

Most needed items include:

Men's and women's underwear
Dry dog and cat food
Bottled water
Shelf-stable food items, not expired
Travel-sized hygiene items (especially body wipes)
Cleaning supplies
Gift cards (HEB, Walmart, Target, gas stations)

Can be accepted gently used:

Adult clothing and shoes (seasonally appropriate)
Accessories (hats, belts, bags, wallets, etc.)
Socks
Backpacks
Camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, chairs, etc.)
Pet supplies (leashes, collars, bowls, toys, clothing)
Towels

HOST A SUPPLY DRIVE

Sunrise Supply Drives are crucial to help meet the immediate needs of our unhoused friends by collecting items like clothing, hygiene supplies, and food. It is also one of the best ways to raise awareness about homelessness in our community. By hosting a Sunrise Supply Drive, your business, organization, school, church, or community group will make a direct impact on those we serve.

how to drop-off supplies

Supplies and in-kind donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm at the Sunrise Hub.

When you pull into the parking lot there will be a donation sign on our donation shed to direct you to ring the doorbell. Please ring the doorbell and someone will come outside to assist you with your supply drop-off.
