Sunrise Stories: Meet Delia
Delia refused to miss work.
After leaving the criminal justice system, she spent months sleeping at the bus stop just to make it on time. She worked hard to save for her own place, but she couldn’t do it alone.
Last month, with help from Travis County Reentry Resources, Delia was referred to the Sunrise Wayfinder rehousing team for financial support.
Today, Delia has fulfilling work, stable housing, and the resources she needs to succeed.
She is deeply grateful for her fresh start and, most of all, looks forward to sleeping safely indoors.
In 2025, the Sunrise Wayfinder rehousing program helped 143 individuals secure safe, affordable housing.
But for clients like Delia, we provide more than financial assistance. We empower them to reclaim their dignity and invest in their futures.
Over the next 24-hours we are participating in Amplify Austin. We ask you to amplify our work by making a donation or sharing Delia’s story. Together, let’s move more people home.
Amplify Austin is Central Texas' largest day of giving, running now through 6 PM tomorrow. Thanks to Lee & Roger Kintzel and the Shield-Ayres Foundation, your donation will be matched to amplify vital services for people experiencing homelessness.
Your donation will make a tangible difference in someone’s journey through homelessness.
Thank you for amplifying dignity, trust, and lasting change in our community!
