Have an unwanted truck, car, RV, motorcycle or even a boat that you want to turn into services and programs for our unhoused neighbors? You can donate your old vehicle to Sunrise and we'll turn it into cash. Call the toll-free vehicle donation number to get started:

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support causes you love like Sunrise! Donor-advised funds can easily be set up through a community foundation or your financial institution.

Sunrise accepts gently used items, food, and gift cards to empower people experiencing homelessness. In-kind donations can be dropped off at our Hub location Monday to Friday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Please submit an In-Kind Donation Request for items not on the following list, large items like furniture, or speciality items like appliances.
Most need items include:
- Gift Cards (HEB, Gas, Walmart, Target, etc)
- Batteries (AA, AAA, etc)
- Clothing and Shoes (All sizes and genders)
- Undergarments (All sizes and genders)
- Socks (All sizes and genders)
- Hygiene Supplies (Travel sizes only)
- Coffee, Sugar and Creamer (Bulk sizes)
- Paper Goods (Plates, cups utensils, and napkins)
- Towels (For showering)

Make a bigger impact by donating long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds, and mutual funds, directly to Sunrise! Compared with donating cash, or selling your appreciated securities and contributing the after-tax proceeds, you may be able to automatically increase your gift and your tax deduction. Double your donation by checking with your employer to see if their company matches donations made by employees to eligible nonprofit organizations. Sometimes making your gift through work is the easiest way to double your contribution to and help support our unhoused neighbors. When you make a tribute donation, Sunrise will share the incredible work we are doing with the family of your choice. We will extend care and compassion from your generosity with a heart warming card and success story from our recently unhoused neighbors.

Interested in hosting an event with your group or business to raise money to help support Sunrise's mission? If so, here are a few tips to get started!
- Decide what kind of event you would like to have
- Plan your event at least one month in advance
- Email Sunrise at development@sunriseaustin.org if you'd like staff at your event
- Promote your event to friends, family and on social media
- Set up a personalized fundraising page through Sunrise to track your donations
- During the event share what Sunrise does and why you are passionate about this work
- Take photos and tag us in your social media posts
- After the event collect all of the donations (cash, check, online, etc)
- Set-up a time to visit Sunrise and present your donation

Host your own fundraiser online to celebrate a birthday, holiday or just because you're ready to invest in our work to empower people experiencing homelessness. You can set-up your fundraiser online through your Facebook or Sunrise has their own crowdfunding site to help you track your donations. Questions about getting started with your fundraiser? If you're starting to plan for the future or are just updating your will, Sunrise can help you create the legacy you wish to leave to ensure our unhoused neighbors have services and programs to help them build on-ramps to acquire safe, supportive housing. You can include Sunrise in your will or living trust with a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or the remainder after all other provisions are specified.
